In DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin, players take on the role of a new character named Jazal Grendel, who is tasked with investigating a mysterious death in the city of Drangleic. As Jazal investigates, he discovers that something sinister is afoot and that the city is under attack by an unknown force.

To fight against this threat, Jazal must use his wits and weapons to survive in a world full of deadly creatures and treacherous traps. He can equip himself with powerful weapons and armor to help him survive, or use magical spells to defeat his enemies.

In addition to fighting enemies on foot, Jazal can also ride on horseback or use magic to summon creatures to help him fight. He can also explore the cityscape and find hidden treasures in order to boost his abilities.
