Membership to AGE
According to AGE’s statutes,
all Full Members must:
- represent and/or work on behalf of older and/or
retired people in the countries of the European
Union
- adhere to AGE Statutes
- be not-for-profit
- be legally constituted according to the laws
and usages of the country in which they are established
There are different ways to become involved
in AGE's activities.
Full membership
- 2008 : 0,21 % of annual income - with minimum 300 euros
and maximum 2415 euros.
- 2009 : 0,22% of total annual with minimum 315 € and maximum 2.500 €.
As a full member you can participate in all AGE’s activities and be refunded for most of your participating costs provided we have the budget for it. In particular, you are able to nominate a representative to take part in the meetings of the working groups AGE has set up on age discrimination, social protection, employment, social inclusion, health and ICT and accessibiity issues. You are informed of policies activities and can take part in them by sending out comments, sharing experience and best practices... In addition, you are entitled to a full vote at the General Assembly.
Observer membership
- 2008: 300 € / year.
- 2009: 315 € /year
This entitles you to participate in AGE’s
activities and to comment on text proposals as
full members. However, observer members do not
receive reimbursement for participation in AGE
meetings and do not exert a voting right at the
General Assembly.

The procedure to become a member
An accreditation committee
is in charge of examining the new applications
to AGE. The Committee makes recommendations to
the Council which decides on the application.
The application is then ratified by the following
General Assembly which meets once a year in Spring.
